Jennison was born in 1832 in Walpole, New Hampshire.〔 He later relocated to Michigan, where he attended and graduated from the University of Michigan.〔''History of Washtenaw County, Michigan''. 1881.〕 By the late 1860s, he was practicing as an architect. He remained active in his profession until his death in 1895.
